“Michael Morph? I remember that name”. Well it’s little surprise as his Stomp release on Boombox in 2002 literally had people running to DJ booths across the world to find out what the track was. One such person being James Lavelle whilst in Fabric! Although it has often been said you are only as good as you last release, leaving it five years until the next one is a little extreme.

So where has Morph been? Nobody really knows, the mysterious character claims to have been on a soul searching sabbatical to find a new sound that will move dance music forward. This is the first fruit of his mission statement. Expect plenty more across various labels over the forthcoming months. This is a not a genre thing, this is a good music thing!

Ladies and gentlemen, Sound of Spectrum 006 is here.

Forward is a bold and brazen release which is not going to be everybody’s taste, but if you want to hear nice non-challenging music then listen to the pop charts. Using a variety of rhythms, the track moves through an epic journey, culminating in a breakdown that simply has been destroying dance floors. Pete Jordan has been caning this beauty for months now and if you are wondering what the unedited version is like, then imagine the same but with 11 minutes worth of mayhem.

Keeping up the Sound of Spectrum mission to provide a range of mixes that will keep the most eclectic amongst you happy we see reworks from Tony Thomas, Kids and Tracksuits and the on fire (and recently decorated) Hexadecimal.

Kids in Tracksuits caused a storm with their remix of DJ Hal and Joe B on Release 4. Once again they show why the likes of DJ Yoda and DJ Shadow have cited these guys as the next big thing. Their attention to detail and understanding of beats seems way too advanced for two 19 year olds. Hexadecimal (winner of Breakthrough DJ and second in Breakthrough Producer category) just keeps getting bigger and better. Another dancefloor stormer that will appeal to the breakbeat crowd and anybody who likes hitting the dancefloor hard. Amazing stuff yet again! We are very pleased to welcome house legend Tony Thomas to the Sound of Spectrum fold, and he reciprocates with a groover that have all the credentials for a classic. Inspiring stuff!

This release is massive!! You need it in your life, not only will it make your sets rock, but will get you friends, adoration from the opposite sex and will help you fulfil all your wildest dreams.
